Semifinalist Spotlight: Bobby Kim '21

February 23, 2021

Bobby Kim is a 3L from Las Vegas, Nevada, though he has been competing from his apartment in New York, New York. He has been arguing on behalf of the Government throughout the competition.

We asked Bobby a few questions about his experience competing in the Stone Moot Court Competition this year. Here are his responses:

Stone Director: Walk us through how you prepare for oral arguments. Do you have any routines or practices you've stuck with throughout the competition?

Kim: I usually read through both briefs and then try to think of the best arguments against my case. I then write out my argument and practice answering random questions out loud, so that I feel comfortable replying to any sort of curveballs that might get thrown my way.

Stone Director: What has been your favorite part of the Stone Competition so far?

Kim: My favorite part has been all the great feedback that I have received from the many judges who have volunteered their time to read through our briefs and ask questions during oral arguments. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity to learn and become a better advocate.
