Amanda Orbuch is a 2L from Jericho, New York. Amanda represented the Appellee in both the Qualifying and Semifinal Rounds.
We asked Amanda a few questions about her experience competing in the Stone Moot Court Competition this year:
Stone Director: Why did you choose to participate in the Stone Moot Court Competition?
Orbuch: I wanted to push myself to take on a public speaking/oral argument task. This can be intimidating and outside of my comfort zone, and I thought the competition would be a good opportunity for growth.
Stone Director: What has been your favorite part of the Stone Competition so far?
Orbuch: I've really enjoyed having to think on the fly during judge questioning. Even when it's nerve-racking, there is something exciting about having to develop a logical, evidence-supported point under pressure.
Stone Director: What is the first thing you did after your last oral argument during the Qualifying Round?
Orbuch: I closed out of all the tabs of cases and evidence on my computer, which felt amazing. Then I went to sleep, which also felt amazing.
Congratulations, Amanda!
