Yolanda is a 1L from Miami, Florida. As a child of immigrants, Yolanda understands the significance of searching for asylum. Her personal experiences have instilled in her a passion for social justice and public service.

Yolanda graduated from Boston College with degrees in English and History and a minor in International Studies. Prior to law school, Yolanda worked in both the Public Corruption and Narcotics Units of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Additionally, she joined the Human Trafficking group in processing cases and providing refugees with asylum. Her professional experiences have demonstrated to her the importance of having legal advocates who are passionate about representing communities in need. Yolanda is interested in criminal justice, international human rights, and refugee asylum law.
