Vamsi Damerla graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College in 2019 with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics before starting at Columbia Law School. During college, he was in charge of Swarthmore's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, assisting low-income Philadelphia residents file tax returns, claim credits, and gain financial literacy. During his 1L summer, he worked at the Department of Labor's Office of the Solicitor, assisting attorneys in litigation under various worker-protections statutes such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. At Columbia Law, Vamsi is a coach for the Asylum & Refugee Law Moot Court and a staffer on the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. He enjoys watching and playing basketball and golf, listening to music, and exploring pastry shops throughout New York City.
