Stephanie is from New Jersey and has strong roots in the Dominican Republic. She graduated from Cornell University in 2014 with a degree in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and concentrations in the Latino Studies and Africana departments. Prior to law school, Stephanie worked at Paul, Weiss as a corporate paralegal and at the City Bar Justice Center’s Immigrant Justice Project advocating for asylum seekers in New York City and at the border. This past summer Stephanie was an SEO Law Fellow at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York City. At Columbia, Stephanie joined the Journal of Gender and Law and the LALSA Moot Court - a triumphant feat for her as a person with a lifelong speech disfluency. She continues to moonlight as a college prep mentor for South Bronx United, a youth development nonprofit in her neighborhood geared towards immigrant and first-generation high school students.
