Nicole Castillo graduated from Dartmouth College in 2017 with a B.A. in Government and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. She taught English in Morocco after graduation and continued working as an educator in New Jersey upon her return, specifically coaching high school congressional debate. A former debater herself, she helped found a free summer debate camp in Miami, Florida, and mentored high school students through Legal Outreach’s Constitutional Law Debate Program. As a first-year student at Columbia Law School, Nicole competed on the Asylum and Refugee Moot Court external team at UC Davis. She considers moot court the highlight of her 1L year and is grateful to have had the opportunity to hone her oral advocacy skills and learn more about asylum law. Nicole currently serves as the President of the Latinx Law Students Association and moot court coach.
