Natalie Smith

Natalie Smith graduated from Northwestern University in 2021 with majors in Global Health, Biochemistry, and Voice & Opera. During her undergraduate career, she focused on advocacy at the intersection of health and human rights, founding the oldest undergraduate chapter of the Physicians for Human Rights Student Program and participating in the law school's interdisciplinary Access to Health Project. Prior to beginning law school, she interned with the Torture Abolition and Survivor Support Coalition's Research & Advocacy program and worked with a nonprofit supporting migrants and refugees along the Serbian-Croatian border, providing violence reporting and legal education. At CLS, she is an IRAP rep for SIRR and a Pro Bono rep for Rightslink. Interested in issues related to asylum and forced migration, she currently works with the Border Violence Monitoring Network's legal working group to advocate for migrant rights in the European Union.
