Mission

CLSHRA is a student-run human rights organization dedicated to promoting human rights leadership and awareness across legal disciplines.

We provide students with opportunities to engage in human rights advocacy and research, as well as to connect with practitioners and academics in New York and beyond. Working closely with the Human Rights Institute, Human Rights Clinic, and Public Interest and Public Service Office, CLSHRA organizes a variety of events, research projects, and trainings on human rights issues throughout the year.

Why Join?

CLSHRA has no membership fee and our programming is open to all members of the Columbia community. For both general body or Board members, CLSHRA provides opportunities to build relationships with leading human rights scholars, practitioners, and Columbia Law colleagues, and also develop your skills as an advocate, leader, and thinker.

Orientation Picnic, August 23, 6pm

Kick off the year with us with a picnic on Revson Plaza! This will be a great opportunity for students to catch up after the summer and meet others interested in the human rights field. Our Board members will also be present to answer any questions about CLSHRA. Food and drinks will be provided!
