This interactive session with CLS Human Rights Practitioner in Residence Anna Macdonald will explore what makes human rights advocacy successful at the UN. Where do you start? What about countries that are hostile to your ideas? Anna will share tips and strategies from over 20 years of successful international advocacy, and discuss some of the new challenges facing advocates in the current context of onslaughts on human rights principles and the difficulties of influencing in a pandemic environment. Following Anna’s presentation, we will invite attendees to turn on their cameras (if possible) and participate in discussion. This event is organized by the Human Rights Institute and co-sponsored with Rightslink, SJI, SPIN, and LALSA. Register here.
