About Us

The Criminal Justice Action Network (CJAN) is a student-run organization at Columbia Law School. CJAN is dedicated to all things criminal justice, from what the Attorney General is doing to local public defense and policy work. The group’s mission is threefold: to increase awareness about issues surrounding criminal justice, encourage interaction among students interested in improving the criminal justice system and provide career development opportunities for our members. During the school year, CJAN sponsors guest panels on careers in criminal justice, policy developments, and the intersection of criminal justice with other areas, such as immigration. CJAN also sponsors several spring break caravans domestically and puts on CLS' Mock Trial.

If you have even the slightest interest in criminal justice, we’d love to hear your voice in our conversations!
