Helen Zhou is Co-President of SLST. She serves as a staff editor on the Human Rights Law Review and is Co-Chair of the Columbia Society of International Law's Human Rights and Public Interest Committee. During her 1L summer, Helen worked as a legal intern at Children's Rights in New York. Prior to law school, she was a software engineer at McMaster-Carr in Chicago.
Helen grew up in the Philadelphia area and graduated Vanderbilt University in 2018 with a B.A., double majoring in Mathematics and Molecular and Cellular Biology.
I'm a 2L from Hanoi, Vietnam and a Co-President of SLST. In addition to my involvement with SLST, I'm part of the Human Rights Law Review, the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and the Columbia Business and Law Association. My practice interests include international arbitration and technology transactions.
Jessica S. Hart
Jess is a 2L originally from Washington, D.C. This past summer, she interned at the Blockchain Association, where she worked on various policy initiatives. Her hope is to one day work with emerging companies, particularly those in the crypto and blockchain sector. In her free time, Jess enjoys dancing, good food, and watching disturbing Netflix documentaries.
Originally from Calgary, Canada, Lucas is a 2L at Columbia Law School. He is pursuing a Dual Degree (LL.B./J.D.) with King’s College London, studying both English and American Law. Lucas has spent his past summers interning with commercial law firms. At Columbia, Lucas is a Career Chair for the Society for Law, Science and Technology, a Programming Chair for the CLS Legal Tech Association and part of the Columbia Journal of European Law. Lucas has also founded his own charity to help give back to the community.
Jake is the Treasurer of SLST. He is a staff member of the Columbia Business Law Review, and also serves on the boards of the Columbia Air and Space Law Association and the Columbia Society of International Law. He spent his 1L summer as an intern at the Court of International Trade. Before law school, Jake spent several years working in the technology industry in California. Most recently, Jake worked on the Legal and Compliance teams at a self-driving car startup. In his free time, you can find Jake enjoying motorsports or a good science-fiction novel.
Yun is a 2L originally from Beijing, China. With a double major B.A. in Chemistry/Biochemistry and History, Yun has had research experience in biochemistry, neuroscience, and nonproliferation. During 1L summer, she worked on labor law litigation issues interning at Aaron Halegua PLLC. In addition to SLST, Yun is also an Editorial staff member of the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review. She is interested in IP and technology transactions. Beyond law school, Yun is also an aspiring mixologist and an avid traveler.
