The Public Defender Students of Columbia Law School and CJAN welcome Ward Oliver, the supervising attorney of Legal Aid’s Immigration Law Unit for an evening chat on Padilla v. Kentucky. Mr. Oliver will talk about how various criminal dispositions affect the immigration status of both legal permanent residents and those immigrants here without status. He will specifically talk about how Padilla changed the practice of criminal defense.
