Maria Ledesma ’22 serves as one of two LaLSA Social Chairs. She graduated in 2017 with a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy from CUNY’s Hunter College. She is passionate about urban policy, particularly as it pertains to issues of poverty, criminal justice, and education. After graduation, Maria served as an Urban Fellow in the New York City government, where she interned at the NYC Law Department. The summer before law school, she served as an SEO Law Fellow at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in NYC. On campus, Maria is on the Journal of Race and Law. She is also a member of First Generation Professionals, Empowering Women of Color, and the Columbia Business and Law Association. Maria spent her 1L summer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in NYC. She enjoys cooking, dancing, and traveling.
