Anahi Mendoza

Anahi Mendoza serves as the LaLSA Academics Chair. She graduated with honors from Harvard University with a degree in Social Studies and a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights. Before law school, Anahi served as an SEO Law Fellow at Ropes & Gray LLP, worked with detained asylum seekers along the U.S.-Mexico border as a Community Fellow with the Immigrant Justice Corps, and served as the Executive Director of the Immigrant Legal Defense Center. She spent her 1L summer with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) where she conducted research on voting rights, administrative law, and habeas petitions, and assisted with the Texas DACA case. At Columbia, Anahi is a coach for the Asylum & Refugee Moot Court and is on the Human Rights Law Review. She enjoys cycling, painting, and listening to podcasts.
