The Columbia International Arbitration Association is excited to present this panel discussion between Professor George A. Bermann and Professor Eduardo Zuleta on the difficulties arising from the clashes between the orders adopted by the emergency arbitrator, the tribunal constituted after the emergency arbitrator, and the local courts. This will be a hybrid in-person event (capped at 50 attendees) and broadcast online via Zoom. 

Professor George A. Bermann is the Gellhorn Professor of Law and Monnet Professor in European Union Law here at Columbia Law School and the director of the Center for International Commercial & Investment Arbitration. For more than four decades, he has been an active international arbitrator in commercial and investment disputes in all sectors, including general commercial contract, construction, intellectual property, energy, oil and gas, competition law, insurance, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, distributorship and franchising, transportation, and employment. He also serves regularly as an expert witness before international arbitral tribunals as well as before courts in arbitral-related cases.

Professor Eduardo Zuleta is a professor at Georgetown Law School. He is the Vice President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, member of the World Bank Sanctions Board, member of the ICCA Governing Board and has been member of the LCIA Court, Vice Chair of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration and President of the Latin American Arbitration Association.
