Subway
The nearest stop is the 116th Street – Columbia University stop on the 1 line. After exiting the station, simply walk through the gates and take a stroll along College Walk through Columbia’s main campus, and you will find the law school on the other side across Amsterdam Avenue on the northeast corner of Amsterdam and 116th Street.
The 1 line is directly accessible from both Penn Station and Port Authority Bus Terminal (via underground passageway to Times Square). From either location, the direction of the train will be uptown.
From LaGuardia Airport
Public Transit
The M60 bus will take you directly from the airport and drop you off right in front of the 116th Street – Columbia University subway stop. Assuming normal traffic, the ride will take roughly one hour and five minutes.

Metered, roughly $20-25 (plus tolls and tip).
From JFK Airport
Public Transit
Take the AirTrain to Sutphin Boulevard. Transfer to the E line (direction: World Trade Center). At Port Authority, transfer to the 1 line (direction: uptown, via underground passageway to Times Square – no additional fare required). The ride will take roughly 90 minutes.
Taxi
All yellow cabs in New York charge a flat rate of $52 (plus tolls and tip) between Manhattan and JFK Airport.
From Newark Airport
Public Transit
Take NJ transit to New York Penn Station. From there, take the subway from Penn Station to 116th Street – Columbia University on the 1 line (direction: uptown).
Taxi
Licensed New Jersey taxis will have a fixed-rate fare schedule. The rate including Columbia’s location is $65. A $5 weekend surcharge may also be in effect.
*Please note that taking a New York licensed yellow cab to Newark will be the metered fare (plus return tolls and tip) plus a $15 Newark Airport surcharge.
